I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to embrace all things Red next season. We have already seen quite a bit around throughout the Summer but there is nothing like the colour Red to lift your mood when the weather is cold and dreary. And of course it is THE colour of Christmas.
I am even more excited about this trend because I already own quite a lot of red clothing so I am not planning on making any new purchases. But if you do want to be bold and add a bit of scarlet to your wardrobe or play it safe with a deeper burgundy/wine, without breaking the bank then take a look at the current sales on the high street. There are plenty of items available, at knock down prices, that can be easily carried into next Season.
I have had a little look around and spotted a few items that I think are fabulous and a bargain.
Red Pencil Skirt £5.00 (was £14.99). This is great for those who want to wear a more subdued shade of red. I would wear this with my pink fitted jumper, black studded ankle boots and black biker jacket.
Red High Waisted Skinny Jeans £8.00 (was £24.99) I love these and they are such a bargain. They are so versatile. I can think of so many ways to wear them but for a simple pub outfit I would team with a black turtleneck and black high heel ankle boots.
Red Long Sleeved Blouse £7.99 (was £17.99). I could see me wearing this with my indigo straight leg jeans and leopard print pointed ankle boots.
Red Lace Pencil Skirt £17.49 (was £34.99). Fabulous for the Christmas Party season. Sold out on line but I have seen this in store. I would keep the top simple and definitely wear with heels on a night out but there is no reason not to dress down with trainers and a sweatshirt.
Burgundy Tuxedo Jacket £9.99 (was £39.99) I would wear this with Black Leather Leggings, Black Heels and a bright Red Camisole.
Dark Red Velvet Trousers £20.99 (was £29.99) These are a great buy for Winter. Velvet is another of the key trends for AW and again these would be great for Christmas parties.
Red Pencil Skirt £12.00 (was £36.00). Another great party piece with heels and a tuxedo jacket.
Red Floral Midi/Maxi Skirt £12.00 (was £35.00) I am tempted by this myself. I would team with long boots and a chunky knit.
Red Wide double lace-up Belt £7.99 (was £20.00) Great if you dont want to embrace full on Red and wide belts are on trend next season. How good would this look with a head to toe black outfit and red shoes/ankle boots.
Red Wrap Midi Dress £17.00 (was £45.00) Wrap dresses are so flattering. This has short sleeves but you could wear it with a turtleneck underneath (pink, black or navy for me) and long boots in colder weather.
Red Pointed High Court Shoes £25.00 (was £56.00) These are leather and everyone should have a pair of Red shoes in their wardrobe. They instantly add impact to a plain outfit. And would look so look so good with an on trend black or grey trouser suit.
Burgundy Sequin Turtleneck Crop Top £20,00 (was £40.00) I can’t really get away with a crop top at my age but I would wear one over a lycra vest teamed with a leather skirt. This ticks a number of boxes for AW trends: Sequins, Turtleneck and a shade of Red.
Red Cotton Midi Skirt £18.00 (was £32.00) Midi skirts are a must have item for AW.
Red Belted Midi Skirt £34.30 (was £49.00) A Midi Skirt with pockets. Need I say more.
Red Cotton & Cashmere V-Neck Jumper £17.40 (was £29.00) I have a couple of these in other colours and the high neck version in Red (not currently discounted). They wash well and feel great. These are a great compromise if your budget does not stretch to invest in cashmere. Which mine doesn’t.
Red Wide Leg Trousers £35.40 (was £59.00) I love love these trousers. They look so expensive and are such a flattering shape. I would wear them dressed up with a voluptuous blouse and heels or dressed down with a logo sweatshirt and trainers.
Brick Red Slim Fit Velour Trousers £20.30 (£29.00). Prefect for those who are not ready to embrace scarlet. Another item that can be dressed up with a statement top and heels or dressed down with a jumper and ankle boots.
So that is my pick of sale items. If I were parting with my money, I would buy any of these because I can think of a million ways to style them that would work for Autumn and Winter (OK maybe not a million but at least 4 or 5 which is generally my rule when buying something new). I would love to hear if you make any sales purchases and how you would style Summer Reds to stay on trend in Autumn and Winter.
Thank you for reading.
