Week 1 (Sculpt & Tone) – THRIVE DIARY

After managing to lose a little weight in the first Stage of my plan,  I am looking forward to this next stage where the focus is on Sculpting & Toning. I got off to a good start and enjoyed getting back into Pilates and Yoga. Both of which I haven’t done for almost two years. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed them. I have been trying to keep my steps up too but I have not been moving as much as usual. I was still at work this week but with no children around I seem to be more desk-bound. My diet didn’t get off to a great start either as I was snacking on leftover end of term treats in the office.

Another thing that is hard this time of year is avoiding alcohol. Who doesn’t like to sit in the sunshine with a glass of something cold at the end of a busy day. I am attempting to steer clear during the week but it’s not easy and I have several lunches/dinners with friends and family booked over the next few weeks. And, I can guarantee there will be drinking. I think I need to find out what the healthiest alcoholic drink is. Any suggestions??

Anyway this week has been OK. But I definitely need to work a little harder next week.

MONDAY 24th JULY

Dinner - Mexican Mince & Rice with Grated Mature Cheddar

Wellness/Beauty - Sanctuary Spa Gentle Polish Body Scrub


WEDNESDAY 26th JULY

Movement - 20 min Kickboxing HIIT Workout
Steps - 10,880
Breakfast - 1 x Slice Pumpkin Seed Toast & Butter
Lunch - 2 x Hard Boiled Eggs & Slice of Pumpkin Seed Toast
Dinner - Tandoori Salmon Fillet with Green Beans & Sweetcorn Quinoa
Snacks - Protein Shake
Wellness/Beauty - L'Oreal Detoxifying Pure Clay Face Mask


THURSDAY 27th JULY

Movement - 15 min Kettlebell Circuit 
Steps - 15,055
Breakfast - 2 x Hard Boiled Eggs with Spinach & Tomato
Lunch - Prawn Salad Sandwich on Wholemeal Bread
Dinner - Sweet n Sour Chicken & Brown Rice
Snacks - 2 x Chocolate Biscuits & Handful of Mixed Nuts
Wellness/Beauty - A couple of pints of beer in the pub

FRIDAY 28th JULY

Movement - Rest Day
Steps - 8,465
Breakfast - 2 x Mashed Hard Boiled Eggs with Spinach & Tomato
Lunch - Small portion of leftovers Mexican Mince
Dinner - Takeaway Sausage & Chips
Snacks - Small portion of Mature Cheddar & Handful of Mixed Nuts
Wellness/Beauty - L'Oreal Detoxifying Pure Clay Face Mask

SATURDAY 29th JULY

Movement - (Gym) 10 mins HIIT Cardio plus 30 mins Weight Training
Steps - 15,780
Breakfast - Pineapple Smoothie with 1 Scoop of Protein Powder
Lunch - Wholemeal Wrap filled with Prawns & Salad
Dinner - Cajun Chicken Portions, Sweet Potato Wedges and Warm Veg Salad
Snacks - 6 squares of Dairy Milk & Hard Boiled Egg
Wellness/Beauty - Sanctuary Spa Gentle Polish Body Scrub


SUNDAY 30th JULY

Movement - 10 km Walk
Steps - 19,940
Breakfast - Bagel topped with Ham, Spinach & Poached Egg
Lunch - Protein Shake
Dinner - Grilled Pork Chop, Spinach Salad, Coleslaw & Potato Salad
Snacks - 2 x Pints of Guinness
Wellness/Beauty - A long walk in the Countryside
